“The Unseen Contract: Are You Living by Rules You Never Chose?”

You never signed it.
You never negotiated the terms.
Hell, you probably didn’t even know it existed.
But somehow… you’ve been living by an unseen contract.
And it’s running your life.
If you’re a leader, athlete, entrepreneur—or just someone who gets sh*t done—you know what it means to perform under pressure. But you also know this: sometimes the grind stops feeling like power and starts feeling like prison.
Here’s why: you’ve been unconsciously following rules that you never chose.
⚠️ Rules like:
“Never let them see you sweat.”
“You’re only as good as your last win.”
“Keep the peace, even if it costs you.”
“If you stop, you lose.”
These aren’t just ideas. They’re internal contracts. Signed in silence. Reinforced by repetition. And if you never question them, they become your entire playbook.
Let’s get real—these rules didn’t come out of nowhere. Most of us were handed these “standards” early: a parent who only praised results, a team culture that glorified burnout, a boss who rewarded silence over truth, a world that said “Be small. Be agreeable. Don’t ruffle feathers.”
You internalized them. You built a life around them. And now… they’re outdated. They’re heavy. And they’re costing you your peace, power, and full potential.
💭 Ask yourself:
Do I feel guilty when I rest?
Do I avoid asking for help because I “should know this by now”?
Do I tie my worth to how much I produce, win, or serve others?
Do I hold back opinions to keep the room comfortable?
If you said yes to any of these, you’re living by a rule you didn’t consciously choose.
But here’s the good news: What was unconsciously written can be consciously rewritten.
🧠 Let’s flip the script:
Name the rule. Write it out. Get specific.
Example: “I can’t slow down without losing everything.”
Trace the source. Where did this come from? Whose belief is this really?
Ask: Does this still serve me? Is it helping me grow—or just keeping me small?
Rewrite your own rule. Make it honest. Make it bold. Make it yours.
Example: “I can lead from rest. I’m powerful when I pause.”
🔥 There’s no gold medal for playing small.
No prize for keeping contracts that silence your truth, dull your edge, or grind down your soul.
Rip. Them. Up.
Out loud. On paper. On stage. Wherever you need to.
Because your next level? It requires a new agreement.
One where your power isn’t earned through exhaustion…
It’s embodied through alignment.
Ready to tear up your old script and write the one that makes you unstoppable?
That’s exactly what we do in the keynote. Because no one performs at their peak under someone else’s contract.
